I provide strategic and managerial oversight to ensure delivery of key activities in the JER programme which includes managing funding recommendations, engagement with thematic partners (Public Health Programme – New York, Education Support Programme – London), managing local grantees and the JER team.

OPEN SOCIETY FOUNDATION FOR SOUTH AFRICA (OSF-SA)
The Open Society Foundations fund civil society organisations globally. At OSF-SA I conduct operational research & evaluation to advance the Foundation’s strategy and programmes. My responsibilities include assessing grantees’ progress, preparing funding recommendations and spend plans for submission to the Executive Director and the Board. I also manage key grant relationships with thematic partners and provide the necessary support to grantees across different portfolios including Education, Health, LGBTI & Access to Justice.
April 2016 – June 2017: Grants, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at HABITAT FOR HUMANITY SOUTH AFRICA (HFHSA)
I managed all M&E related activities which included co-creating and implementing a monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) framework to document and evaluate the national impact of the programme. I was also responsible for reporting and facilitating strategic planning activities and assisted with funding procurement through developing proposals and managing donor relations.
May 2014 – March 2016: National Monitoring & Evaluation Portfolio Manager at ACTIVATE! CHANGE DRIVERS
ACTIVATE! is a national youth development programme that equips youth with innovation and project planning skills; and offers an understanding on how the youth can navigate the socio-political landscape. I was responsible for developing the necessary M&E systems to measure the national impact of the training programme on its beneficiaries; designing a national evaluation framework; conducting operational research; preparing annual reports and data analysis; and building team capacity for M&E and knowledge management platforms.

I was responsible for conducting operational research, publishing research papers and Op-Eds; policy analysis; reviewing and developing materials for the training of local government officials; organising forum events, conferences and workshops; developing proposals; annual reports; stakeholder engagement and capacity building; and website management.

I assisted the Bonn Esperance Refugee Shelter for Women & Children in Phillipi to develop a procurement and policy manual for the management of the programme. I worked closely with the Programme Manager to plan & implement project activities, draft proposals and evaluation reports. This role exposed me to community-based work and was my entry into the social sector in South Africa.
