WORK EXPERIENCE:
Feb 17, 2009– Present: Tool Engineering Design Branch, Corpus Christi ARMY Depot
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
* Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE)/Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD). Also perform Computer-Aided Manufacture (CAM) of Polycarbonate components through the use of 3D Printer.
* Actively promote Mechanical Engineer’s Code of Ethics (Hold Paramount Human Safety, Practice Only In Are of Expertise, etc.) as well as ARMY and OSHA’s practices.
* Have become lead provider of Tooling/Fixtures for, highly regulated, overhead hoisting applications requiring compliance with stricter regulations/standards (OSHA, ASME, ASSE, others). As well as the lead point of contact in engineering matters regarding material-handling and rigging tools used for Overhead Lifting Applications (fixtures, adapters, slings, etc).
* Additionally identified the need for, and began performing, Technical Writing duties, being the Branch’s proponent & sole-provider of Technical Publications for new & old tooling; locally manufactured Special Tools, OEM tools, and also for commercial off the shelf tools [when required]:
o Make available to the respective work centers the necessary guidance to maintain the tooling in good repair through its service life (maintenance procedures and schedules, parts listings/diagrams, user’s manuals, etc.):
o Branch proponent for the creation & implementation of a standardized process to address this necessary practice, and incorporate it into the workflow.
* Identify shortcomings and/or improvement opportunities by, not just performing an assessment limited to the aircraft-system/component but, performing a thorough engineering assessment of the processes, the tools & equipment and the surroundings related to the specific rework-task in which the requested tooling will be directly & indirectly involved (machining, chemical/thermal, NDI/Ts, etc.) allowing to deliver an engineered solution instead of just a stopgap.
* Improve Quality control by thoroughly testing solution for Form Fit & Function (FFF) through all aspects, allowing for [possible] improvement opportunities to be identified & addressed in a timely manner, thus ensuring delivered tooling is efficient, effective & user-friendly.
* Maintain myself up to date on technical language as well as workplace terminology for efficient and effective communication with the client/workforce (technicians, artisans, etc.).
