• The processing/analyzing of warranty data to assist in root cause analysis of failed parts for continuous product improvement
o Compared replacement of HVAC controller and Instrument Panels to discover that HVAC controllers were being replaced 36% of time after Instrument Panel was replaced. Found technicians were mistakenly switching plugs to HVAC controller and radio due to similar appearance between the two plugs. Worked with wiring harness supplier to provide label on each plug to prevent mistaken identity. Decreased mistaken identity to 5%.
• Negotiating with suppliers for recovery after analysis leads to root cause of failure
o Used return parts analysis to discover 54% of auto-tensioner claims were supplier responsibility, presented warranty recover proposal to supplier, recover initial payment of $42,300 with future quarterly payments of 54% of auto-tensioner claims
• Extensive analysis using Microsoft Excel to determine trends to project future fiscal year financial responsibility
o Used downloaded data from Mitsubishi Database to predict future Mitsubishi responsible warranty, supplier responsible warranty, Japan responsible warranty, probable recall costs to predict necessary financial reserves for 2018 fiscal year
• Preparing necessary data for government agencies, to include a corporate recall
o For Mitsubishi Wiper Motor Recall, created a VIN list of affected vehicles including number of vehicles per country; presented a cost estimate based on projected completion ratio, labor rate, and parts cost; presented executive presentation to upper management
• Training of staff on warranty processes, writing work instructions
o Conducted weekly training seminars to train corporate office employees on how to extract data from the corporate system to be used in monthly reports
